National Science Foundation (NSF)
Client Objective: The National Science Foundation sought to improve their HR practices and procedures in order to recruit, select, and retain talented employees who fit the needs of NSF.
FMP Approach: The Foundation contracted with FMP to streamline the entire selection process, from recruitment to retention, in order to increase its effectiveness in finding and keeping employees who fit NSF's needs. - Developed staffing and recruiting plans that define hiring needs and strategies for finding and attracting needed candidates
- Conducted job analyses to identify critical skills and competencies
- Designed and developed assessment questions using Quick Hire
- Developed behaviorally-based interview questions and assessment processes
- Developed effective vacancy announcements, ads, and other marketing materials/tools that target the precise types of candidates needed
- Designed and documented effective recruiting and hiring processes across the life cycle from needs identification to on-boarding
- Provided training to HR staff on job analysis techniques, assessment tool development and use, and other recruiting and hiring skills
- Developed and executed strategies for training/communicating with managers regarding the hiring process and expectations for that process
- Designed metrics and evaluating the effectiveness of the hiring process
Results: The Foundation was able to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their recruitment and retention process resulting in higher customer, employee, and applicant satisfaction.
