Ben Porr, Ph.D., Consultant

Dr. Porr has been with FMP since 2006. His primary areas of expertise include job analysis/competency modeling, assessment and training development, survey design, strategic planning, and quantitative/qualitative data analysis. Prior to working at FMP, he worked at the Army Research Institute (ARI) in the Selection and Reclassification Unit. His work in this office focused on developing and testing innovative technologies to recruit, assign, and sustain quality personnel.

A major client for Dr. Porr is the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS; formerly part of Legacy INS). His work with this client includes the development and implementation of a strategic workforce plan. Some of the work he led included the development of a recruitment toolkit for field supervisors, documentation of the recruitment and selection process for the agency, and the revision of the recruitment website for the agency. Dr. Porr received his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from George Mason University. He has presented research findings at various events, such as the American Psychological Association (APA) and Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) annual conferences.
