Katie Elder, Consultant

Katie Elder joined the FMP team in 2005. As a consultant, Ms. Elder has helped organizations with Strategic Human Capital Planning and Human Resource Solutions. Ms. Elder has a breadth of experiences, including competency modeling and assessment, strategic workforce planning, recruiting and retention, training and development, and HR technologies and tools. Additionally, Ms. Elder has worked closely with a Federal agency to create and fill new positions within the agency. This included conducting job analyses, creating job descriptions, and developing assessment tools such as online applications and structured interviews.

Ms. Elder earned her Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from George Mason University in 2006. She is currently working on her dissertation in order to complete her Ph.D. in I/O Psychology from GMU. Her research and academics at GMU have given her extensive training in the areas of personnel selection, diversity, leadership, small group behavior, motivation, and various statistical methods. Ms. Elder has presented her research findings numerous times at leading academic conferences including the annual conference for the Academy of Management (AOM) and the annual conference for the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).
