Sheryl D. Phillips, Consultant
Ms. Phillips is a Senior Independent Consultant with a close strategic partnership with FMP. She has been working with leaders in organizations for the past 20 years as an organizational consultant, executive coach, leadership trainer/facilitator, and human resources executive. Prior to beginning her coaching and consulting practice, Ms. Phillips was the senior Human Resources Executive in large organizations for more than 10 years, most recently for Arlington County, VA, an urban municipality directly adjacent to Washington, DC.
She has a Master’s degree in Government from the College of William and Mary, is a Certified Professional Coach, and has a certificate in Organizational Learning from George Mason University. She is also a faculty member for the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching program.
Ms. Phillips works extensively with executives and leaders in the Federal government, local government, and non-profit sectors. She draws on her “insider perspective” as a former senior executive in working with high-level leaders, particularly those within complex government settings. She works on a regular basis with senior government groups in the areas of leadership development, strategic and business planning, and leadership team development; and as an individual executive coach to senior managers and executives.
Ms. Phillips is a frequent speaker on the subject of leadership and coaching, speaking at the 2003 ASTD international conference in San Diego, and SHRM, ASTD and OD organization conferences in the Washington, DC region. In 2003, she published Executive Coaching – A Leadership and Organizational Development Method, offered by the International Personnel Management Association for Human Resources.
