Tara Carpenter, Ph.D., Consultant
Dr. Carpenter has eight years of professional and educational experience in personnel assessment, employee development, and human resource management. Her Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology is from George Mason University. Dr. Carpenter uses her skills in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, survey design and analysis, employee assessment and development, and program analysis to improve employee and organizational functioning.
In recent projects she has helped plan, develop, and evaluate strategic personnel management initiatives that impact thousands of federal employees. Currently she is a core member of a team providing guidance to the Air Force regarding the force-wide implementation of a competency-based personnel management system. In addition to working on projects that involve strategic personnel initiatives, Dr. Carpenter’s technical training allows her to explore cutting edge applications of behavioral science principles. Dr. Carpenter is the recipient of a half million dollar Department of Defense grant to develop an automated interpersonal skill training system for Special Forces soldiers.
